How to buy Bitcoin

We accept Bitcoin (and Lightning when available on the invoice) so you can complete research-use orders without card processors in the middle. Paying with Bitcoin currently includes 15% off merchandise (not shipping or shipping protection) at checkout.

After you place the order, you are redirected to a BTCPay Server invoice. Pay there, then return to chemistry.works for confirmation.

   Create an account on a major exchange or app

   In the United States, many people use apps such as Coinbase, Cash App, or Strike to buy Bitcoin. These are examples only — not endorsements. Download the app from the official App Store / Google Play (or the provider's official website), complete identity verification if required, and fund your account with a bank transfer or debit card as the app allows.

   Buy Bitcoin (BTC)

   Purchase enough BTC to cover your Chemistry Works order total (including any network fees your wallet may charge). Exact amounts and fees vary by app. Leave a small buffer if you are unsure about fees.

   Complete checkout on chemistry.works

   Add items to your cart, go to checkout, choose Pay with Bitcoin, and place the order. You will be redirected to a secure BTCPay invoice to finish payment with Bitcoin or Lightning (when offered on that invoice).

Cash App is one of the simplest ways for many U.S. shoppers to buy a small amount of Bitcoin and then pay a BTCPay invoice at Chemistry Works checkout. Steps below are a high-level overview — always follow Cash App's current in-app prompts.

1. Open Cash App and go to the Bitcoin tab.
2. Buy enough BTC to cover your order total (plus a small buffer for any network fees).
3. At checkout, choose Pay with Bitcoin, then use your Cash App Bitcoin balance to pay the BTCPay invoice (on-chain or Lightning when offered).

• Send the exact amount shown on the invoice (in BTC or sats as displayed).
• Do not close the invoice window early — wait until payment is detected and you see a confirmation state.
• On-chain payments may need one or more confirmations before the order is marked paid. Stay on the page or check your email / account orders if you leave.
• If the invoice expires, return to checkout or your order page and start a fresh payment — do not reuse an old address.

• Only install wallets and exchanges from official app stores or the provider's verified website.
• Never share seed phrases, recovery words, or private keys with anyone — Chemistry Works will never ask for them.
• Double-check that you are on chemistry.works and that the payment page is the BTCPay invoice opened from our checkout.
